Transparency of Lobbying, Non Party Campaigning and Trade Union Administration Bill Received Royal Assent on 30th January 2014Non party campaigners are individuals or organisations that campaign in elections but are not standing as political parties or candidates. Electoral Commission will be providing guidance on the recent changes that will come into effect on 19 September 2014.   4. Some of the main changes: - The regulated period for campaigners will be approximately 7.5 months. For the UK General Election it will start on 19th September 2014 - A wider range of activities will be regulated during election periods - Controls will cover spending on events, press conferences, salaries for staff involved in regulated activities and transport to obtain publicity - If a campaigner in England will spend more than £20,000 on regulated activities during the regulated period they need to register with the Electoral Commission

Some of the main changes: - Spending limits for campaigning in England will be reduced to £319,800 - There will be a new limit of £9,750 for spending focused in a particular constituency - The changes do not apply to elections to the European Parliament in 2014 but will for future - The non-party campaigning rules do not apply to local elections unless they occur at the same time as either General or European elections

  6. Influencing Party Manifestos - Spell it out – you have the expertise and knowledge about issues that affected disabled people - Relevant to their remit and realistic – cost neutral - Be aware of party politics

  7. Election Information - Factual accessible information about what voting is and how to register to vote - Ask the same questions to all parties/candidates - Present the information in leaflets and/or hold a hustings event
