AFL. Cost of living allowance. The extra money is allocated to 2 of 18 teams . They get the money because it is a lot more expensive to live in Sydney. It adds up to almost an extra 1 million dollars. The swans have added two great players in 2 years.

  2. The extra money is allocated to 2 of 18 teams They get the money because it is a lot more expensive to live in Sydney. It adds up to almost an extra 1 million dollars The swans have added two great players in 2 years.

  3. Eddie McGuire & Collingwood were really upset that Swans could afford Buddy The Swans haven’t broken any rules, they have just used their money wisely. Tippet and Franklin are 2 of the highest paid players in the AFL

  4. Andrew Demetrious had planned to review the COLA at the seasons end anyway. He says that only the 2 new teams should receive help.

  5. Last year Mr. Demetriou strongly supported the COLA and said it made the AFL equal and fair. • He said the Swans used the money fairly and for its purpose. • He has since scrapped the cost of living allowance.

  6. Now GWS don’t receive the allowance. • They are unhappy with Sydney for exposing the COLA. GWS looked like they had secured Lance Franklin.
