Los Positivos sí yes alguien someone, somebody, anyone algo something siempre always también also, too algún/alguno/a some, any algunos/algunas o either, or Sí, estudio mucho. ¿Alguien tiene un libro? Necesito algo más. Siempre estudio mucho. Juan estudio tambíen. Algunas personas estudian mucho. Necesito una pluma o un lápiz.

Los Negativos no no, not nadie no one, nobody nada nothing nunca never tampoco neither, too ningún/ninguno/a none, not any ningunos/ningunas ni…ni neither, nor No, no estudio mucho. ¿No tiene nadie un libro? No necesito nada más. Nunca estudio mucho. Juan no estudia tampoco. No hay ningún libro aquí Ningunas personas estudian mucho. No necesito ni una pluma ni un lápiz.

  4. Algunas Reglas • Alguno is to modify something that is singular. Invita a algunos de tus amigos. • Algunosis for multiple (or a group of) subjects. Algunosmujeresvotaronporel Presidente. • algúnchico... algúnestudiante. (some guy.. some student). • NOTE: The same applies for ninguno/ningunos/ningún/a

  5. Double Negatives  • We don’t use them in English, but we do in Spanish. • No quiero comprar nada. • I don’t want to buy nothing. • No hay nadie en la clase. • There is not nobody in class.

  6. Personal A • When Alguien or Nadie is the object of a verb, it is preceded by the personal a. • ¿Conoces a alguien de España? • No, no conozco a nadie de España.
