  3. Birthday Celebrations • The last Friday of every month at 2:20 • Please let me know ahead of time if you plan to bring a treat • Plan for 25 students • Invitations can only be distributed at school if there is one for every student • NO PEANUT PRODUCTS please

  4. Conduct Sheet • Please initial nightly. • Discuss both good and not-so-good behavior choices. • Color system • First warning redirection • Second warning  move clip to yellow ; may lose free-choice time • Third warning move clip to red; will lose some recess and free-choice time.

  5. Take Home Folders • Please check these nightly for notes home, finished projects, homework, etc. • Papers will be in either the “Keep at Home” or the “Sign and Return” pocket.

  6. Fluency Folder • Sent home around conference time • Please complete an activity and sign the log nightly – activities include reading, letter fluency practice, math fluency practice

  7. Homework Could consist of: • Handwriting: Students will begin practicing D’Nealian handwriting • Math Homework: Should be about one page per week. Students should know how to do it. • IB projects

  8. Primary Years Programme • Learning IB Attitudes and Learner Profiles • Reflecting during daily activities • Schedule: Aug/Sept Who we are Oct/Nov How the world works Nov/Dec Where we are in place& time Jan/Feb How we organize ourselves Mar/Apr Sharing the planet Apr/May How we express ourselves

  9. Conferences • Scheduled in October and February • Please let me know if you are running late or need to reschedule

  10. Going Home • If your child goes home a different way than usual, you must send a written note. Otherwise, we have to send them home the usual way. • If your child goes home with someone who is not in Infinite Campus, you need to send a written note. Otherwise, we cannot release your child with that person.

  11. Website • I will keep my website updated throughout the year. Please check it at least once a week • Volunteers: We will begin a schedule in mid-September. Thank you for offering us your time!

  12. Reminders • If you haven’t already done so, $5.00 for National Geographic magazine • $1.00 for an IB portfolio binder • Snacks for the class

  13. Scholastic books • Book orders sent home each month • Inexpensive books • Order online and I receive a coupon for a free book to add to our classroom library
