  2. why is the ferret a pest? The ferret is a pest because it eats lots of different types of pets. It eats native birds that need to be protected like kiwis, kakapos ect. And they eat all of the eggs that they lay. Ferrets spread T.B.- Tubuculosis. Tubuculosis is a desease that affects your lungs!!!!

  3. I wonder what the ferret looks like ? Ferrets have a brown-black body, they have black legs they have white faces they are a size of a small cat!!! And are really CUTE!!!!!

  4. Where do ferrets live to catch their food Ferrets usually live in the very edge of forests, rough grassland, scrubland and pasture !!!!!!!!!!!

  5. What does the freaky ferret eat? Baby- ferrets drink their mothers milk Adults- eat rabbit pellets and they eat lots and lots of meat they are carnivores. Babies and adults can both eat fruits and veggies they like these as treats they eat rabbits, hares, possums, birds-all sorts of eggs, lizards, hedgehogs, frogs and eels . they can not have chocolate, dog food and dairy products.

  6. Why was it introduced to n.z.???? Ferrets were introduced to N.Z. to stop rabbit pollution. People used them to hunt rabbits and kill them. People use them to sell their fur for coats. They came from Europe and they dissolved from European polecats!!!!

  7. A Few Facts!!! An unspayed female ferret is called a jill while a spayed female is a sprite. An intact male is a hob and a neutered male is called a gib. Baby ferrets are called kits. Ferrets have no fear of humans. A newborn is soooooo small that it can fit into a teaspoon! All ferret kits have white fur at birth. The average ferret lives to about 6 or 7 year old. Ferrets are members of the mustelid family. Females have 6 to7 pups when they are pregnant. Ferrets are born deaf they begin to hear at about 34 days after ,same wit the eyes . Their heat beats 200 – 250 per minute
