  1. Overview • Utah State Legislature Created the Utah Division of State Parks and Recreation in 1957. • Currently 42 Utah State Parks and Three Statewide Programs: Boating, Off-highway Vehicle and Non-motorized Trails. • Three types of State Parks: Heritage, Scenic and Recreation.

  2. Goals • Increase visitation to Utah State Heritage Parks. • Distinguish between State Parks and National Parks to aid in Organization Identity

  3. Backgrounder • Informative internal document for employees to use as a training and reference guide. • Includes brief history, current situation and future goals.

  4. Position Paper • Document stating the position of the Utah Division of State Parks and Recreation regarding funding issues and what should be done to restore funding cuts.

  5. Press Release • Four press release documents that provide information for upcoming scheduled events, as well as events that we suggest be held.

  6. Feature • Designed to be printed in Utah newspapers. • Discusses increasing gas prices and informs readers of nearby, inexpensive vacation ideas to Utah State Parks.

  7. Newsletter • Two pages designed to be placed on restroom doors within State Parks and on State Park bulletin boards, etc. • Includes Director’s Corner, Featured Park of the Month, Safety Tip of the Month, Reservation Information, Upcoming Events, and Volunteer Information. • May be easily updated and changed each month.

  8. Brochure • Specific to Heritage State Parks. • Designed to inform readers about Heritage Parks and promote increased visitation to these historic sites. • Suggested placement at all Heritage Parks and various Utah State Parks and information centers.

  9. Summary • All documents and communication mediums are on the included CD for easy reproduction. • Cost of Media Kit.
