  1. Manifest destiny- is the belief or doctrine, held chiefly in the middle and latter part of the 19th century, that it was the destiny of the U.S. to expand its territory over the whole of North America and to extend and enhance its political, social, and economic influences. by: ElissaOrozco

  2. Fort Mandan • . -People started moving to the west after they found out that Lewis and Clark had made it there safely. -They wanted to go to this new land for the animals and resources available.

  3. The Alamo • Americans were moving to Texas and no one really minded until they didn’t obey to there laws. That led them to war! They fought at the Alamo. • After the war people moved toward the west because the Americas won! Giving them this new land for there people.

  4. Mexico city • Mexico and America fought at the Mexico city. And America won, we had won California and parts of Texas!

  5. Sutters fort Sutters fort just outside of Sacramento, was were they found gold! It was a place during the gold rush that a lot of people went to. This made people move to California in search for gold they had gold fever. .

  6. Independence Missouri The start on the Oregon trail. People wanted to go on the Oregon trail because Lewis and Clark had made it to the pacific by following this trail. This made people want to move west because they had heard good things about the pacific ocean and the land and resources.

  7. . FORT CLATSOP Lewis and Clark ended the expedition here in Oregon. After coming here and then going back to the east to tell what they had found people soon started moving westward.

  8. Charleston TN • The Indian removal was known as the trail of tears. When the Americans made the Indians move to south Dakota, and by that many native Americans tribes moved west with them. Many people dies on this trail of starvation and diseases.
