  3. Word #2 - Assumption Question – What assumption can the reader make about the character? Definition - something taken for granted; a supposition (the act of supposing). Discuss – What exactly is that question asking? What is the difference between an inference and an assumption?

  4. Word #3 - Objective • Question – What is an objective summary of the selection? • Definition - not influenced by personal feelings, interpretations, or prejudice; based on facts; unbiased. • Discuss – What exactly is that question asking? What is the difference between an objective summary and a subjective summary?

  5. Word #4 – Significance • Question – What is the significance of the statement below from the last paragraph? • Definition – importance. • Discuss – What exactly is that question asking? How would the question be different if you replaced significance with meaning?
