  1. Ask, Seek, & Knock Matthew 7:7-11

  2. Hebrews 11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called, obeyed by going out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance; & he went out, not knowing where he was going. (Heb 13:5)

  3. John 16:32 Behold, an hour is coming, & has already come, for you to be scattered, each to his own home, & to leave Me alone; & yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.

  4. What do we need from God? • Sin removed (Matthew 7:5) • Deliverance from sin (Romans 7:24) • Mercy & forgiveness (Luke 18:13)

  5. Matthew 7:7-8 Ask, & it will be given to you; seek, & you will find; knock, & it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, & he who seeks finds, & to him who knocks it will be opened.

  6. Persistence in prayer • Friend at midnight: food (Luke 11:5-8) • Persistent widow: justice (Luke 18:1-8) • Luke 18:1 Now He was telling them a parable to show that at all times they ought to pray& not to lose heart, (cf. Rev 8:1-5)

  7. Fatherhood of God • Kind toward the unjust (Matt 5:45; Luke 6:35) • Benevolent to His children (Matt 7:11; Psa 84:8-12; Isa 63:7; Rom 8:32) • Gives exactly what is needed (Matt 7:9-11)

  8. The blessings of God • Matthew 7:11 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!

  11. Ask, Seek, Knock It’s not about getting everything we want. It’s about growing into the image of Christ.
