  1. Deadline's Looming--Get the Help You Need Right Here Posted on 16 October 2018 The end of tax season is nearly here and if you’re lodging your own tax returns, better hurry: the deadline is 31 October. The process of lodging your Australian income tax returns isn’t complicated, but it could be a bit, um, taxing. So we thought we’d share a couple of steps to get you started. Step #1: Gather the information you need for filing your returns Your tax file number (TFN) Your income information (like employment and income payment summary; tax-free thresholds; tax credits; and others) A copy of: oIndividual tax return instructions 2018 oNAT 2541 - Tax Return for Individuals 2018 Form oNAT 2679 - Tax Return for Individuals (Supplementary Section) 2018 Form

  2. Step #2: Lodge your tax return Here’s where it gets a bit tricky. You can file in either of three ways: online, by mail, or through a registered tax agent. Take your pick and claim your refund! If you’re filing your returns online, you'll need to: 1.Create a myGov account. 2.Link your myGov account to ATO 3.Follow the steps to filing your tax returns. This process is fairly long and time consuming so if you need assistance let us know and help will be on its way! If you're lodging your tax return by mail, get an Australian Taxation Office (ATO)Paper Tax Return Packet (online or through your local ATO office). This package contains the Individual Tax Return instructions and two copies of the Tax Return Form. Complete the forms and mail them back to the ATO. (Sounds confusing? This might help.) Filing your tax returns through a registered tax agent would be your best option—especially with the 31 October deadline approaching fast. We can definitely help out. Click here to get started.
