  1. Title of the album “Blue Print 3” in simple san serif font. Symbolic 3 sign next to it. Name of the artist on its own, in a bold serif font. It stands out although its not the largest thing on the page. Instruments all the colour white, pilled up in a corner. This is a visual metaphor expressing how Jay-Z feels the Hip-Hop industry is forgetting what the main focus is “Music” Many people will not understand the connotation from the denotation of the instruments, but that makes it exciting as it allows everyone to depict their own interruption. Three big red stripes are actually the symbol of the original cave drawings of the number 3 before the three lines were joined. Jay-Z added this as he feels this album is all about starting over and making original music. Again more interesting symbolism. Jay –Z also uses the simple colour code to state that music is the only important thing, not selling records or radio gimmicks. No star image needed as Jay-Z is extremely famous at this point in his career Very simplistic colour scheme, just white black and red. The white and black again links to the message of originality. However the red could suggest blood, there is definitely a dark side to this album cover and Jay-Z

  2. Big bold serif font. The name of the artist much larger and dominant compared to album cover. This could be to grab an audiences attention as his name is well known. Unlike the album cover, Jay-Z does feature on the tour poster. This increases effect of star image. Again the original symbol of the number 3 is again featured. This symbol is featured on almost everything relating to this album. Its very much the image for “Blue Print 3” Jesus cross chain, links to star image as many of Jay-Z’s songs involve the theme of religion. Jesus chain is ironic as he has been linked to the illuminati and Satanist movements. Advertisement of the album of which the tour is focusing on. Title of Jay-Z’s music label. Information of time and location of the show, also company logos that may have invested in the tour or supported it in some way. Information on where to book tickets. Further information on how to claim student discount ( large amount of the target audience will be students)

  3. The largest typography is the main artists name “Ludacris” The name of the song acts as a sub heading. Furthermore text is in bold san serif font, to stand out more. Large image of Ludacris manipulated by Photoshop. He has a serious expression which again links to the theme and subject matter of his song. Also there’s a black fade which is a good technical code. Iconography gives you an insight to the narrative of the music video. Faded image of a person waiting for a train. This is related to the topic of the song “Running away” its almost a visual metaphor. Black and brown colour scheme, very dark this helps create the mood. Extra promotion of a bonus song. Again in bold san serif font. Many posters need this stamp of legislation to state that the poster is suitable for all ages.
