Maxima – General Overview • Maxima is one of the two largest producers of Air Gases in Israel. • The group produces Air Gases: Oxygen, Nitrogen, and Argon, as well as Carbon Dioxide, Dry Ice, Acetylene and Nitrous Oxide. • The group also produces a large variety of gas mixtures. • In addition to its production activities, Maxima also imports & markets (through its subsidiary Argim ), other gases like Helium and Electronic & Specialty Gases (from Praxair & many other sources). • Maxima supplements its strength in the gases market, by providing sales, installations & services of gas related equipment, like cryogenic products, gas production systems and miscellaneous equipment for many applications. • In 2008, Maxima, through its subsidiary Maxima Medical, started a new activity in the medical field: sleep therapy, oxygen therapy, respiratory machines and others. • As of 2007, Maxima is also active in waste treatment • applications.

Maxima – General Overview ( Cont.) • Maxima was incorporated in 1974 as a private company. • In 1983, Maxima became a public company and registered its shares for trading in the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange Market. • In 1996, Praxair Inc., the 3rd largest gas company in the world, based in the United States, acquired control of the Group (50.02%). • On April 2008, Praxair sold its shares to DIC, one of Israel biggest investment groups, which held 24% of Maxima shares for more than 20 years. • As a part of this change of ownership, Maxima has been designated as “Praxair Technology Associate” providing access to Praxair’s safety, operation and technology databases, as well as participation in internal conferences and consultation.

  4. Maxima – General Overview ( Cont.) • Maxima production activities are concentrated in two plants: one in Mitzpe Ramon and the other in Ramat Hovav. Both plants are located in the south of Israel. • In Ramat-Hovav, Maxima operates pipelines of Nitrogen and Oxygen to supply several chemical and pharmaceutical neighbouring facilities. • On July 2008, Maxima started the construction of a new site in central Israel, including offices, filling stations, medical business and an Air Separation plant (ASU). This ASU will also supply neighbouring customers by Nitrogen and Oxygen pipelines. • In mid 2009, Maxima will operate a new modern Carbon Dioxide plant, the largest in Israel.

Quality, Safety & Environmental aspects • Maxima follows Praxair’s culture: “Safety is not an option”. • Maxima is the safety leader in industrial gases in Israel, providing training and advice on safety issue to its customers. • Maxima operates an Emergency Response Team for gases. • Maxima is certified on ISO 9000, ISO 14000 and ISO 18000 standards, and it is in the qualification process for ISO 9301 and “Responsible Care”. • Maxima is an approved supplier of the Israeli Defence Ministry, the Israeli Air Force, the Ministry of Health, Intel and many other organizations. • Maxima continuously improves using world leading methods as 6 sigma, management by KPIs etc. • Maxima shows high reliability in its performance, according to Praxair benchmarks and customer satisfaction levels.
