What To Expect • 2 rounds of thunderstorms • 1st round Friday Night into midday Sat • 2nd round Saturday evening/night has the greatest severe potential • Tornadoes, very large hail • Potentially a Dangerous Situation • Saturday evening/night…Rare setup that in the past has resulted in long lived strong to violent tornadoes

  3. Today/tonight Outlook • Thunderstorms developing this evening and overnight • Large hail appears to be the main hazard in northeast KS. • Thunderstorms could persist through the night and be ongoing into Saturday morning Hail risk Tornado risk

  4. Saturday’s Outlook • Late afternoon/evening T-storm development as early as 5-6pm across central KS • Potentially Dangerous Situation. • Long track, strong to violent Tornadoes • Very large hail • Lasting well after dark especially for our counties se of the turnpike

  5. Prepare Now for Possible Severe Weather Outbreak • Have a severe weather plan in place • Primary option needs to be an underground shelter/saferoom • If don’t have one, find someone who does…think about that today/before the storms develop • Many activities Sat night-proms, etc. Pass along to school administrators to review severe weather plans now and be ready • Greatest risk on Saturday evening/night • Belleville south toward Wichita and all areas east of this line • From around 5pm through midnight • Fast moving storms • Long track strong to violent tornadoes possible
