  5. Connection A program designed to foster leadership in the integration of technology into learning amongst teacher-practitioners. Founded on the philosophy that if you want to help teachers understand the power of technology, you need to put that technology into their hands. • Participants are provided with: • Use of laptop • PD opportunities • Leadership opportunities, • CATC Staff Development Plan Elementary & Secondary Groups Annual application process…

  7. Connection Comfort with the technology is no longer the main issue. What needs to change to focus participants more directly on using technology to add value to the learning goals of the board? The problem?

  8. Connection Comfort with the technology is no longer the main issue. What needs to change to focus participants more directly on using technology to add value to the learning goals of the board? The problem? Program’s capacity-building focus had been fairly unstructured. Some participants thrived in this environment and emerged as leaders. Others need more guidance. How can we help all participants realize their potential and take charge of their own learning?

How can we leverage the groups to create a community of connected learners?

  10. Our Challenge? Leading the Shift Essential Question Re-inventing Connection How can we design problem / passion-based professional learning to engage our teachers for 21st century learners? A match made in heaven!

  12. Connection The Plan: Critical Questions Do we try to water the rocks? Start with the new cohort, with new application criteria. How do we engage individuals in professional learning? Have them design their own professional learning plan. How do we foster the idea of technology adding value to learning? Learning plans need to explicitly align with Board learning goals. How do we foster a community of professional learners? Mimic the PLP structure, F2F & online. How do we leverage the learning with this group? Foster capacity for leadership in the Board & beyond.
