  2. Rays • Rays are part of a line with one endpoint that extends forever in one direction. • Rays are named by stating the endpoint first, then any other point on the ray. • If you choose a point on any line, that point determines two opposite rays.

  3. Angles • An angle is formed by two noncollinear rays that have a common endpoint. • The rays are called sides of the angle. • The common endpoint is called the vertex. • When naming angles, either use the number given or 3 points with the vertex in the middle.

  4. An angle divides a plane into 3 distinct parts: • Points that lie on the angle • Points interior of the angle • Points exterior of the angle

  5. Angles are measured in degrees. • Degrees are the result of dividing the distance around a circle by 360. • Protractors are used to measure angles.
