  14. Q2. Patty Burger Split • Spongebob makes 4 Patty Burgers each hour during his shift at the Krusty Krab. • His shift is 7 hours long. • During this time, he sneaks 3 burgers into his mouth, and 1 for his good friend Patrick. • Of the rest of the burgers, they are split evenly between Squidward, Mr. Plankton, and Sandy. • How many does Sandy get? Answer

  15. Q3. Garfield Naptime First nap Start: 9:24 am End: 10:20 am Second nap Start: 10:23 am End: 10 minutes later Third nap Start: 11:12 am End: 1:43 pm Total time napping? Answer

  17. Q5. Smurfville Population Average female population? Answer

  18. Q1. Constructing a Wall A wall is constructed using 3500 bricks and it contains foundation and main wall. The foundation of the wall contains 1000 bricks. If v represents number of bricks in main wall in vertical direction and h represents number of bricks in main wall in horizontal direction which expression represents the calculation of bricks? A) v+ h - 1000=3500, B) v* h + 3500 = 1000, C) v * h + 1000 = 3500, D) 3500/v + h = 1000 Answer

  19. Q2.Constructing a Can structure A can structure contains two types of cans. Type A can costs of $42.5. This is $13.5 less than twice what is spent for type B can. What will be the cost of type B can? (Photograph below is just for illustration) Answer

  20. Q3.Constructing wood stairs A house has two sets of wood stairs. 2nd set of stair has one more step compared to 1st set. The total steps are 37. How many steps are there in 1st set of stairs? (Photograph below is just for illustration) Answer

  21. Q4.Constructing a bridge A bridge structure is made up of 7000 toothpicks. The base requires twice the toothpicks compared to rest of the structure. The road of the bridge utilizes 1000 toothpicks. How many toothpicks are used to construct the base? (Photograph below is just for illustration) Answer

  22. Q5.Construction site transportation A total of 557 windows were sent to a construction site. Total 10 trucks were filled equally and the remaining 17 windows were sent in a small U-Haul. How many windows were there in each truck? Answer

  23. Average Ages Answer: C (11) Solution: Next year, Teddy, PJ and Gabe will be 11, 16 and 17. 11+16+17+0 [Charlie]=44 44/4 children = 11 years Main Page

  24. Long Time Flight Answer: 5286 seconds Solution: (3600km) X (1000m/km) / (681m/s) = 5286.3 seconds Main Page

  25. USS Enterprise y 4 Answer: A Solution: 3 (1,2) 2 1 Main Page x 0 1 3 2

  26. Song Genres Answer: 150 If she has listened 15 country songs she has gone through 5 cycles. So multiply all songs by 5. 8 * 5 hip hop + 10 * 5 R&B + 9 * 5 Reggae +15 country = 150 songs Main Page

  27. World War Z Answer: D (10) 50% of 1.3 B = 0.65 B = 650,000,000 Main Page

  28. Two Person Game Answer: A (7) Solution: If Juan won 3 games then Mary lost 3 points so that she must have had 8 points before losing in order to have a final total of 5. If Mary had 8 points before losing then she must have won 4 games. If Mary won 4 games and Juan won 3 games there was a total of 7 games. Main Page

  29. Water Park Answer: C (7.55 seconds) Solution: If Wendy finished 0.25 seconds ahead of Bonnie and Bonnie took 7.80 seconds then Wendy took 7.80 – 0.25 or 7.55 seconds. Main Page

  30. Who Goes First ? Answer: A (Fred) Solution: This is an interesting question that mathematicians usually refer to as modular arithmetic. Henry starts by saying ‘34’ and always says the number, 34 – 5n, where n is a positive integer starting at 1 representing number of rounds. In other words, he says ‘34’, ‘29’, ..., ‘9’, ‘4’. This implies Henry says ‘4’, Iggy says ‘3’, Joan says ‘2’ and Fred says ‘1’. Main Page

  31. Basketball Answer: E (35) Solution: If all ten balls scored, a score of 55 is possible. If ball 1 and 2 is missed the maximum possible score is 52. Similarly, if 9 and 10 are missed, the minimum score is 36. Every score between 36 and 52 is also possible. Of the listed scores, 35 is the only score that is not possible. Main Page

  32. Basketball Score Answer: 8 Solution: Henri scored 1/2 x 20 = 10 points in his first game. In his second game, he scored 1/10 x 20 = 2 points. In the third game, this means that he will score 20 – 2 – 10 = 8 points. Main Page

  33. Poké Ball Probability Answer: 3/7 Solution: • There are 8 regular Poké Balls and 4 Premier Balls. • Therefore you can choose 8+4 or 12 balls out of the 28 total Poké Balls. • P(regular or Premier) = (8+4)/28 = 12/28 = 3/7 Main Page

  34. Patty Burger Split Answer: 8 Solution: • 4 burgers per hour * 7 hours = 28 total burgers • Less 4 that are eaten by Spongebob and Patrick = 28 - 4 = 24 • Split the rest evenly among Squidward, Mr. Plankton and Sandy = 24 / 3 = 8 Main Page

  35. Garfield Naptime Answer: 217 minutes • First nap (9:24 am to 10:20 am) • 9:24 am to 10:24 am is one hour, so we want four minutes less than that = 56 min • Second nap = 10 min • Third nap (11:12 am to 1:43 pm) • 11:12 am to 1:12 pm = two hours = 120 min • 1:12 pm to 1:43 pm = 31 min • total of third nap = 120 + 31 = 151 min • Total = 56+10+151 = 217 minutes Main Page

  36. Roadrunner Sprint Answer: 90m Solution: • Speed: 3 m /min • Time: 30 min • Distance travelled = speed * time = 3 *30= 90 m Main Page

  37. Smurfville Population Answer: 1111 Solution: • Read values from graph for female population for each of the five years.1101, 1109, 1109, 1116, 1120 • Add them all together and divide by number of years (5) (1101 + 1109 + 1109 + 1116 + 1120)/5 = 5555/5 = 1111 Main Page

  38. Constructing a Wall Answer: C (v*h+1000=3500) We know that the total number of bricks is 3500. To find the number of bricks in the wall, we have to multiply number of horizontal and vertical bricks, which is v*h. Add that to the bricks in the foundation we get total number of bricks. So, v*h+1000=3500 is the correct equation. Main Page

  39. Constructing a Can structure Let c be the cost of type B can, then 2*c - 13.5 = 42.5 then 2*c = 42.5 + 13.5 therefore 2*c = 56 Hence c=28 Main Page

  40. Constructing wood stairs Let s be the number of steps of 1st set of stairs, then total steps of in 2nd set of stairs = s + 1 then total steps of both stairs = s +(s+1) then s + (s+1) = 37 then 2*s + 1 = 37 then 2*s = 37-1 =36 Hence s=18… steps in 1st set of stairs Main Page

  41. Constructing a bridge Let t be the toothpicks of the rest of the structure. then the base requires 2*t toothpicks toothpicks used in rest of the structure + toothpicks used in base + toothpicks used in road = total toothpicks t + 2*t + 1000 = 7000 3*t = 7000-1000 3*t = 6000 t= 2000 base requires 2*t = 4000 Main Page

  42. Construction site transportation Let w be the windows in one truck. then 10w+ 17=557 then 10w = 557-17 then 10w = 540 w = 540/10 w=54 Main Page
