  3. Locator map of Nepal - Latitude/Longitude 27° 0’ 0” N/ 84° 52’ 0” E, It borders the countries of India and China. Locked within the rugged ranges of the Himalayas, Nepal is bounded by the Tibet region of China on the North and India on the South, East, and West. The Kingdom of Bhutan lies in its East whereas the Autonomous region of Tibet in the Northeast.

  6. Government Nepal’s Leader, Pushpa Kamal Dahal (a.k.a Prachanda) In November 1990 , King Birendra promulgated a new constitution and introduced a multiparty parliamentary democracy in Nepal. Under pressure and amid massive pro-democracy protests in April 2006, King Gyanendra gave up direct rule and reinstated Parliament, which then quickly moved to diminish the King’s power. In December 2007, Parliament voted to abolish the monarchy and become a federal democratic republic. The transition to a republic was completed in May 2008, when the Constituent Assembly voted to dissolve the monarchy. At this time the government stays at federal democratic republic.

  7. Current Events 2011 February – Jhalanath Khanal, Npeal’s prime minister, elected premier, ending a seven month stalemate during which Nepal had no effect in government. This website, BBC News, is a reliable and official website.

  8. History/Culture At first the British underestimated the Nepalese and were badly defeated until committing more military resources than they had anticipated needing. They were greatly impressed by the valour and competence of their adversaries. Thus began the reputation of “Gurkhas” as fierce and ruthless soldiers.

Humanitarian Aid The European Commission's Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection department (ECHO) has been working in Nepal for many years, implementing community – based disaster preparedness, assisting the Bhutaneserefugees and helping the survivors of civil conflict in remote areas.   10. Oppressed People The “Dalits” or oppressed people are being oppressed by North Americans oppressing them by discriminating them. With a view to create awareness about Nepal's Oppressed Peoples’ situation in North America. They are starting to motivate the Nepali society as a whole to change their thinking and attitude toward caste based discrimination through proactive initiatives, the Nepali America Society for Oppressed Community (NASO Community), which was founded in 2004.

  11. Young People A typical 12– year- old Nepalese kid’s learning is lower secondary class and they don’t learn as much as other grades and only work on the subject science. Most Nepalese kids work on the farm and help their families. Most young kids have to babysit their younger siblings. They practice Hinduism and Buddhism as their religion. They hike, ride elephants, go on safaris, ride on bikes, go on rafting trips, and go hot air ballooning. They play cricket, football, field hockey, basketball, and rugby. They use computers, video conferencing, and they have wifi. Some pop culture is seeing movies and concerts. Also music there is pop, folk, classic music, and rap.
