Re-sort Quickbooks Lists For Customers, Vendors, and Employee lists: • On the QuickBooks Icon Bar, select the appropriate Center. • Select the appropriate Tab to display the Customer, Vendor, or Employee list. • In the QuickBooks menu bar, select View and then select Re-sort List. • Click OK on the message "Are you sure you want to return this list to its original order." Master List: • In the QuickBooks menu bar, choose Banking> Write Checks. • Click into the Pay to the order of field and press Ctrl+L to open the Master Names List. • Select the Include Inactive checkbox. • Click the Name button, and select Re-sort List. • Click OK on the message "Are you sure you want to return this list to its original order.

  3. Fix data damage with the Rebuild Data Utility • In the menu bar, choose File >Utilities >Rebuild Data. Click OK on the message to make a backup. In the Create Backup window, select Local Backup. • Click the Options button and enter a path and folder for the back up. Do not overwrite any existing backups. • Select Complete verification and click OK. • Click Next. • In the Save Backup Copy window, the information should be filled in from previous window. • QuickBooks will start the backup and then automatically start the Rebuild Data utility.

  4. Fix damaged Quickbooks List entries QuickBooks is date-driven and list-oriented. After data range, the lists are the most important part of your Quickbooks when creating transactions and running reports. Entries are the major part of your lists. Any item on your list is an entry; an account is another type of entry on your Chart of Accounts. List damage - a form of data damage that often cannot be fixed by the “Rebuild Utility”. In case your report or list is not complete, you might face a list damage. Important: Any step undertaken to repair a damaged entry will affect all transactions and reports that use the damaged entry, including reconciled and closed transactions and also the previous financial statements.
