  5. It Uses Compressed Air Inside A Cylinder Just Like Hair Spray The Differences In Extinguishers Are: Size of Cylinder Contents Of Cylinder State Of Contents

  6. Size Of Cylinder Extinguishers Are Weighed By The Contents not The Contents and Cylinder Weight

  7. Contents Of Cylinder Dry Chemical Agent(Powder)- Most Common Wet Chemical Agent- Used In Commercial Kitchens CO2 – A Gas Used To Remove Oxygen From Air.

  9. Types Of Extinguisher’s Different Extinguishers Are Used On Different Kinds Of Fire’s. The Most Common Type ABC Extinguisher This Is A Dry Powder Type. However There Are Others, & You Still Need To Be Familiar With The Different Types So You Can Check It Before Using It.

  10. To Pick The Right One …Look For The Letter! • Class A- Normal Combustibles- Wood, Paper, Plastics • Class B- Combustible Liquids- Gasoline, Kerosene, Grease, Oil • Class C- Electrical Fires • Class D- Combustible Metals • Class K- Used In Commercial Kitchens

  11. These Letters Will Be Found On The Label! They Will Sometimes Use Pictures As Well! Lets Find The Label On Our Extinguisher Here In Class!

  12. How Do We Know If A Extinguisher Has Been Used?

  13. The Gauge • Read The Gauge and See If Its Been Used?

  14. Tamper Tag • Look For The Tamper Tag? • If Its Gone It’s Probably Been Used! • This Also Keep’s The Pin In Place!

  15. The Pin • Some Don’t Have A Tamper Tag so Look For The Pin? • If Its Gone It Might Have Been Used!

  16. When To Have Your Extinguisher Serviced • When You Think Its Been Used • When The Gauge Is Not Reading Accurately • At A Minimum Of Every Year According to NFPA 10 Standards

  17. Why Do We Have Them Serviced • To Insure They Are Working Properly! For That We Need No Other Reason!

  18. Be Sure To Check Extinguishers Monthly As Part Of Your Monthly Safety Check In Your Home Or Business.
