  11. Team T-Shirts Please place your completed order form for your child’s Team INSPIRE T-shirt in the basket in the front of my room ($10 Check or Cash accepted). Make sure your check or cash is attached to the form! Checks made payable to: Monroe Township Middle School. If paying with cash, exact change only please 

  12. Assignment Policy • Daily Assigned Independent Practice • Due Next Day or a specific date • Checked (Not collected) • Reviewed in-class • Completed by due date = • up to100% • Cannot be accepted late once • checked in class

Assignment Policy cont. • Graded/Collected: • Formative/Summative Assessments • When Handed In: • On Due Date – Graded Normally • 1 Day Late – maximum 80% of the • earned grade. • Thereafter the grade will be counted • as missing and credit will not be • given (zero). • Extenuating circumstances apply.

Absent Responsibility Policy • All work that was covered while student was missing is required to be completed. • Independent Practice • Typically students absent from school are allowed as many days to make-up assignments as they are absent from school. Ex. 1 day absent =1 day to make-up work. • Projects/Assessments • If a student is absent or late on day project is due or an assessment is given, they must hand in or take the assessment upon return.

Absent Responsibility Policy • Band/Chorus/Middle School of the Arts/or • missing class period but in school. • Homework, Independent Practice, Projects, Labs, etc. must be submitted the day they are due. • Students should make arrangements with the teacher in advance to take the assessment. • Students are required to see their teachers in advance to get work they will be missing for that period.

Discipline Policy • Proactive Conferencing = Opportunities • 1stOpportunity– Proactive meeting, verbal warning, and discussion with student to problem solve. • 2ndOpportunity - Student conferences with team teacher to create action plan. • 3rdOpportunity – Parental contact and student conferences with Team and/or Guidance. • 4thOpportunity – Student is referred to Administration for disciplinary action. • Note: Extreme Behaviors may result • in a Direct Office Referral

Discipline Policy cont. • Examples of severe infractions: • Plagiarism – copying from internet, translators • i.e. online, books, other student’s work, etc. • Cheating (copying homework, tests, • projects, etc.) • Class disruptions that interfere with instruction • Bullying • Cursing • Disrespect (to peers and staff) • *Cell phones, electronic communication devices (NJSA2C: 33-19)

  19. Organizational Tips • You and your child should periodically log-on to Genesis. 2. Use your agenda not only to write daily assignments, but you should also highlight the assignments as they go back into the book bag. 3. Even if your child has no homework they should write in the word “None.” 4. Monitor and maintain school supplies frequently. 5. You and your child should periodically clean out their backpack and reorganize any loose materials. 6. Your child should have a designated pocket folder in their binder for school notices.
