YPP survey results • Survey to focus the activities ofYPP@CERN • Thank you for filling in the survey! • 51 YPPs filled it in • Very interesting results, wish we had more participation • Sections : • General information • Academic training • Outreach • Social activities • The current and the future state of HEP • YPP issues

  2. General info 1 • 73 % spend 100% of their time at CERN • Country: • Majority: Germany, Austria, Italy • ~18 different states! • 15% non-member states

  3. General info 2 • Mainly Experimental Physicists • Need to approach Theorists and Accelerator Physicists

  4. Fellow/PostDoc Diploma/PhD Academic training 1 • Good news! • Continue making publicity for AT lectures and questionnaire

  5. Fellow/PostDoc Diploma/PhD Academic training 2 • Training from group: • Many expressed that it would be nice to organize informal presentations by YPPs for YPPs

  6. Fellow/PostDoc Diploma/PhD Academic training 3 • Minimum requirement for PhD: • PhD: slightly more Test beam/bed • If have to do analysis, prefer real than simulated • Have access to real data • Opinion varies

  7. Outreach 1 • Put some effort into getting people interested and seeing the importance

  8. Outreach 2 • Get to know CERN outreach • Seems like general interest that YPP gets involved
