  1. Who are they? The local foodbank at Clay Cross is a church-based organisation that provides food to local people going hungry.

  2. What do they do? The foodbank stores donated food and distributes it to local people in crisis. It is a simple concept designed to help individuals and families by providing free emergency food for three days (10 balanced meals). Three days is the period assessed as the time it takes for the appropriate agencies to be in a position to assist.

  3. How does it work? Food is drawn as a result of referrals from registered Care Professionals such as Social Services, Health Visitors, Church Pastoral Workers, schools and others working in the front line of poverty. Vouchers redeemable at the foodbank allow clients to exchange their voucher for 3 days of tinned and dry food for their family.

  4. How can you help? Swanwick Hall School will be making a food donation before half term. You can help by donating one of the items from the shopping list and taking it to Student Services. Sugar (500g) Orangejuice (Carton) Milk (UHT or powdered) Instant mash Sponge pudding (Tinned) Tea bags Rice pudding (Tinned) Vegetables (Tinned) Fruit (Tinned) Pasta sauces (Jars) Breakfast cereals Biscuits
