EXPLAINING THE DIFFICULTIES WITH LOWERING PAPER CONSUMPTION AT CKZIUOur school has been incorporated into the Centre of Vocational and Continuing Education at the beginning of the school year 2013/14. Because of that our school has changed its residence and shares the building with another school. Having that in mind we can expect that the total amount of goods (also paper) purchased by the school (now the centre) will not show any decrease. Nevertheless we will try to lower the amount of paper consumption by promoting electronic communication, double-sided copying and printing, re-using the same sets of tests for as long as it is possible etc..We can try to limit the number of printed documents by replacing some of it with thecomputer version only (it is not possible in every area however).

BUT FIRST AND FOREMOST • During Action Planning we have got to make sure that: • it’s Fun & Real: it needs to be realistic & make a real difference. • It must be DAFT! • • It will make a Difference in our students’ lives AND community • • It’s Achievable: you can conceivably do it, There is no point planning to climb Mount Everest if you don’t knowhow to walk yet – keep Everest in sight, but start off with the hill in yourbackyard first. You will learn the skills you need and be motivated byyour success to tackle bigger projects next. • • It’s Fun! If you enjoy it, you’ll stick with it; if others enjoy it, they’ll helpyou make it happen. • • It’s Targeted. Make sure you know what you are trying to achieve, howyou will achieve it and why.
