  2. The Starting Point, Jerusalem • In Paul’s first missionary journey Paul starts at Jerusalem trying to convert Jews into followers of Christ. A picture of Modern-day Jerusalem.

  3. Early Christian Cities • An early Christian citywas Antioch. Antioch was a city in ancient Syria, or modern-day Turkey. Antioch was a city under Roman control, and was one of the many stops of Paul. • Also Thessalonica was an early Christian city. Thessalonica was a Greek city-state. Paul went here in his Second Missionary Journey. After going there Paul also went to Corinth and Athens to convert more people in the known world into Christians.

  5. The Third and Fourth Journey • One focused city in Paul’s third journey was Ephesus. Ephesus was a city in Lydia, and the patron goddess was Diana (Artemis). Paul made an uprising, and the king banished him from the city. • In Paul’s fourth and final journey he traveled to Macedonia. He also tried to convert Romans to followers of Christ. In Rome he was arrested for two years, and suffered martyrdom around the same time as St. Peter.
