  8. Start of Class Procedure: • When you enter the classroom, please go quietly to your assigned seat and get out your materials for the day • Start on your warm-up which will be posted on the board. This should occur before the bell rings. • If you finish you assignment early sit quietly until the other students have appropriate time to finish. • On some occasions their will be no warm up. In this case sit at your desk quietly. “No Wonderers”

  9. Seating • Obviously there is assigned seating, • But sitting where you want is a privilege you can earn. • If a class proves to me that they can behave, open seating will occur for the last three semesters. • I reserve the right to move anyone if they are disturbing the class, themselves, or others. So Don’t ruin it for everyone else

  10. What do you want 1st Good News or Bad?

  11. Cell Phones

  12. Good News!!!!!!!!!! • Mozart

  13. I Pods And MP3s I-pods and Mp3 players can be used only when conducting individual work. But it is very disrespectful to have your headphones in while someone is talking or when you are conducting group projects ONE EAR RULE!!!!!!!! So Don’t ruin it for everyone else

  14. Make up- work Policy • If you miss a class for any reason it is your responsibility to get the work that you missed • You will have the same number of days you missed in order to complete your work and get it turned in. • Example: You missed 1 day = Monday and returned to class on Tuesday. Your work from Make up work will be due Wednesday. • Any tests or quizzes need to made up the day of you return unless the teacher approves a rescheduled time for you to take the test.

  15. Passes • only two passes -per class -per day • Each student is only allowed one pass a week. • To go the restroom, simply raise your hand placing your thumb up, if passes are left on the board and I will release you. • You must go to the restroom across the hall. • I must give you the ok to use the restroom. • If a student takes excessive amount of passes, wanders in the halls, goes to the snack bar, or is meeting friends at a particular time, he or she will lose her those privileges. So Don’t ruin it for everyone else

  16. Participation • As in the real world, in the work force you’re not only evaluated on your work but also work ethic and interactions with others in the work environment. • Every student will receive a participation grade worth about one full assignment a week. • This grade is tallied every week and is based of your participation in group work, attendance, promptness on assignments “getting started”, and class behavior. • This can truly help or hurt your grade in my class. In past years this participation inlay has proved very beneficial to students.

  17. Food Nutrition is an essential part of effective learning. But we have carpet so no food, but gum and hard candy ok. If gum or drinks become and issue with cleanliness, privileges will be lost. *keep the class clean and the custodians happy, so we can all enjoy food and drink in the class. So Don’t ruin it for everyone else

  18. Grading System • Grading Scale: • 100-91= A • 81-90 = B • 71-80 = C • 60-70 = D • 59 & Below = F • Semester Grades will consist of two nine week grades • 40%, 40%, and the semester exit exam weighed at 20%

Teacher will inform you on them as they come up. • Agenda: An agenda will be posted at the front of the classroom. I should never get the question: What are we doing today? It’s all there on the board.

  20. Other stuff • Fire Drill- Leave all items. • Exit out the door to the parking lot. • It is very important that you stand near your classmates. • Get in a single file line and the attendance recorder will take a class count. • In the instance of a bomb threat Mr. McMinn’s class reports to the 50 yard line near the visitor bleachers on the football field.
