  1. The City That Sank By: Haley

  2. Facts • Atlantis existed more than 11,000 years ago in the Atlantic Ocean. • Atlantis was home to the richest copper mines in the whole world. • It was more than 2,370 years ago when Plato wrote about Atlantis. • Plato was a student of Socrates and a great philosopher. • He was forced to take his life when his teachings started trouble with the government.

  3. Facts • Plato said that it was in the Strait of Gibraltar.

  4. Theories • It is believed by some that Atlantis is in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle. • Scientists believe that if Atlantis existed today , it would be bigger than today’s Libya and Asia combined. • It is also believed that Atlantis was in southeast Asia. • It is believed that a tsunami hit Atlantis and it sunk into the mud lands of Spain

  5. Conclusions • I believe that Atlantis didn’t exist at one time because it’s just a myth. There’s no proof that it did exist. Plato’s story, in my opinion, is just his imagination. Atlantis could be a city that exists today but is just called something else. Plato’s is the only man who ever brought it up and made a story about it so that’s the only evidence we have.
