  16. No wedding garment… • Mat 22:10, 11 So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests. • And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:

  17. Friend • Mat 22:12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. • Judas was also addressed as “Friend”

  18. Friend • Those who accepted Christ by faith, Jesus addresses as Friend. • James 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

  19. How do we befriend God? • Pro_18:24 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. • Accept His friendship through Christ.

  20. How do we befriend God? • “A man of many companions is so to his own destruction, but there is a friend (the true, loving friend).” For it is not the multitude of so called friends that helps us. They may only embarrass and perplex. What we prize is the One whose love is stronger and purer even than all ties of blood family.

  21. How do we befriend God? • John 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. • John 15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

  22. Friend • Pro_27:6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

  23. Friend • In the parable the guy without the garment did not make use of the provision made. • He did not take on the armor of God, the righteous of Christ, the cross. HE DID FOLLOW THE WEDDING INVITATION.

  24. Friend • The parable of the excuses reveals those who had a worldly occupation (Property, work, family) that prevented them from attending the feast. • God told us when he would want to have a special date with us.

  25. Friend • Éxo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God.

  26. Friend • Dictionary.com “the first day of the week, observed as the sabbath by most Christian sects.”

  27. Friend • Encyclopedia.com. For centuries Sunday has had a distinct set of boundaries and meanings for children growing up in Catholic and Protestant households and nations. As styles of religious practice changed over time, so did proscriptions for Sunday observances.

  28. Friend • Encyclopedia.com….Broadly speaking, before the Protestant Reformation there was little difference between Sundays and other days, but afterward both Catholics and Protestants engaged in a reformation of the calendar that resulted in a regular rhythm of six days work and one day's rest (Sunday). • But did God say?

  29. Friend • James 4:4, “know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” • John 15:14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

  30. Friend • Heb 4:4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. • Heb 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. • Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
