  2. Introduction CAM stands for Computer Aided Manufacturing. It is an automation system which plays the role in accurate conversion of product designs, drawing object and creates codes, which can be read by the system to yield the product. CAM allows professionals to control machines to yield several items.

  3. A look into history CAM technology which was used in the CNC machines in the 1950s. It is a calculative achievement of which allows a whole set of functions to be regulated at the same time. It's main objective is to accelerate the manufacturing process of various components with more accurate measurements and consistency. As CAM uses only the necessary amount of ingredients there is less amount of wastes and also the energy usage.

  4. Advantages The primary functions of CAM are casting with metals, glass working, woodturning and graphical optimization of the entire yielding procedure. It also allows creating surfaces or optical elements made from crystals, glass, and other metals. CAM can yield 3D solids using metal lathes with high accuracy and details. Systems running on CAM can use whole range of production tools including fast-paced, five-axis turning machines and electrical discharge machines. It aid to apply highly developed productivity tools that include simulation and optimization to support certain professional skills. It can be used in analyzing an item for a reaction to stress.

  5. Applications Application areas of CAM are mechanical, industrial, electrical and aeronautical engineering. Other areas include thermodynamics, fluidity, kinematics, and electromagnetism. CAM can be used in manufacturing products like: Holders for candlestick Legs of tables Bowls Bats for baseball Camshafts
