  1. Film poster evaluation Edward Clark

  2. Aim and research • The aim of your film was attract the largest possible audience and try and enter as many corners of the film market as possible. Our choice of genre took this into consideration as Rom-com’s are typically the most popular genre.

  3. Film Poster This is my Film poster for my Media film coursework. In creating the poster I attempted to mimic the common traits of a real film poster in the effort to further my post production work.

  4. Film Poster Title The title of out project ‘The Boss has a connection to the over all narrative of the trailers film. The different colours is common in film posters as it grabs the audiences attention plus the red in the title carries connotations of desire and lust which again play along with the narrative of the film. We have also chosen to match the poster titles theme with the credits of the trailer by doing this it makes it clear that both are connected.

  5. Film Poster Images the two images are important in how the narrative is put together and the positions of each character. Throughout the trailer and indeed the real product the female (Rianna) character is in control of the relationship and she is also the ‘The Boss’ of the work place so we decided it was necessary to place her above the male character (Joel) to show the contrast between the two characters and make it clear to the audience who is in control.

  6. Film Poster Billing Block The Billing block is important in that it shows the production team and all the other people involved in producing the film. We have again chose the red front to coincide with the other all theme of the production of a dark mysterious red. The billing block of placed at the bottom of the poster with is common in all film advertisements.

  7. Film Poster Certification After doing much research on possible markets gaps for Rom-Coms through deconstructions we concluded that if we were to give the film the largest possible audience then it would be best suited a certificate 15 film.

  8. Film Poster Production company The Production company ‘R.E.J. Productions’ is the sign of our independent film company recognition of these common traits of film posters is essential in making a successful poster which will advertise the film to the largest audience.

  9. Film Poster Website Although our production team was unable to make a website for our film I decided to include it in the film poster in the effort to mimic real film posters.

  10. Film Poster Characters The Two characters in our trailer are clearly labelled this is a common trait in social realist films for example ‘Trainspotting’.

  11. Tagline The tagline is common in all films I have included it next to the title of the film to make it obvious that they are connected, plus by putting it next to ‘The Boss’ makes it clear that the statement is about her.
