  1. For Each of the Following Scenes… • Write the scene in your notebook. • Write blocking to help the audience better understand the scene.

  2. Jonathan (cuts in line in front of Irene) Irene: Jonathan, you can’t just do that. It’s rude. Jonathan: Your mom is rude. Irene: Hey! She’s your mom, too. Jonathan: I know. And anyway, I didn’t think you’d mind. Irene: I don’t. I just don’t want my friends knowing I hang out with my little twerp brother. Jonathan: Harsh much? Geez.

  3. Cara: (enters right) I can’t find my favorite necklace have you seen it? Leah: I don’t know. What does it look like? Cara: It’s the one I wear every day! Silver, star pendant? You know, that one? Leah: Oh yeah, now I remember. I haven’t seen it. Have you retraced all your steps? Cara: I shouldn’t HAVE do that. I took it off to shower, and put it on the counter by the sink. Leah: Maybe it fell down the drain… Cara: Oh no! (Runs off right)

  4. Cara: I saw you with Leah today, Jon. What’s up with that? Jonathan: (looks up from book) What? Cara: Leah. I saw you with her – at lunch? Jonathan: Oh. Yeah. So? Cara: So… She totes likes you, and I know you totes like her, so why can’t you just make a move already? Jonathan: I don’t like her. Not like that. Cara: Psh. Sure.

  5. Irene: Can you please just ask for directions? Tyler: No. That would require us to stop moving, and I don’t really like that idea. Irene: It’s not like we’re being chased by wakeful zombies or anything – Tyler: It’s exactly like that, which is exactly why we need to – Irene: Stop and ask for directions to the nearest uninfected city? Right. Tyler: We will find it. We just can’t afford to stop!
