Good Premium RTU Retrofit Applications (not required) • Long hours of occupancy, • High occupant density (# of people/SF), • Varying levels of occupancy, • High cooling loads, • Electric heat and • No energy management system • Applications: big-box retail, small-box retail, offices, grocery stores, gyms, fitness centers, places of assembly, auto dealerships, theaters, schools, casinos, bowling alleys and restaurants

Premium RTU Retrofit Research ?’s • What is the simplest, reliable method to quantify Premium RTU Retrofit savings? • Can the updated ECAM be used as the standard RTU protocol for Program evaluation? • What are the data requirements? • Are there other key variables affecting savings, besides OSA temperature and hours of occupancy? • Other?

Premium RTU Retrofit Research Plan • Use the updated ECAM as a Provisional Standard Protocol calculator on up to 125 RTUs • Research data requirements: • True power, OSA temperature, plus other variables TBD • One year of weekly cycling, or 6 months of pre & post data • Recommend best practice for metering period • One minute interval
