  3. Kiwanis Terrific Kids Kiwanis Volunteers • A Kiwanis club sponsors this program! A Kiwanis club is a group of men and women who work to make the community a better place. Kiwanis members do things like: • Collecting food and clothing for the needy • Visiting with the elderly in nursing homes • Reading to young people Student Education

Thoughtful: Considering the feelings or needs of others Enthusiastic: Demonstrating feelings of excitement and interest Respectful: Considerate, polite, and courteous Responsible: Dependable and can be trusted Inclusive: Everyone is welcome Friendly: Kind and helpful Inquisitive: Questioning and curious—eager to learn Capable: Able to do a task or job Student Education

  6. Kiwanis Terrific Kids What is a goal? A goal is an outcome you would like to see happen. When you identify something you want and make a plan to get what you want, this is working toward a goal. Student Education

Kiwanis Terrific Kids Examples of goals • I will raise my hand during class discussion when I want to make a comment and will not blurt out my thoughts. • I will return my reading book to the shelf after reading my assigned chapters. • I will clean my desk after participating in art class. Thursday: Ask each student to practice displaying the character trait at home. Friday: Report back to class. Student Education
