  3. What is the Illinois Community Violence Prevention Program? Also known as CVPP, the Community Violence Prevention Program is a community-based, anti-violence initiative that incorporates three components: Youth Employment Program Parent Program Reentry services 3/25/2014 | Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority | 3

  6. CVPP Youth Employment Program The CVPP Youth Employment Program empowers youth with employment training and work experience in partnership with local businesses and organizations. The program includes: Job skills training Summer employment Mentoring Community service projects 3/25/2014 | Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority | 6

  7. 2013 Youth Employment Program Highlights More than 1,800 youth received 40 hours of job training and placement in traditional employment settings. More than 420 employers partnered with a CVPP in their communities to provide job opportunities to youth. $3.4 million in salaries were paid to youth.   8. CVPP Parent Program The CVPP Parent Programbrings community parent leaders together to promote protective factors that contribute to family and community stability, well-being and peace. The Parent Program: Enhances parental and community resilience. Facilitates friendships and mutual support among parents. Assists parents with understanding their children's social and emotional development.   10. CVPP Reentry The CVPP Reentry Program provides crucial services for youth and young adults ages 13-28 returning to the community from youth and adult correctional facilities. The Reentry Program is designed to reduce recidivism by providing young people with educational and vocational opportunitiesand mental health services that encourage and support them in making positive life choices. 3/25/2014 | Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority | 10

  24. BUDGET REVISIONS Policy In order to move the unexpended funds into another category or line item of the budget, approval for a budget revision is required. Requests must be in writing Requests must be received by your grant monitor at least 60 days prior to the end date of the grant. BUDGET REVISIONS Preparing your budget revision request *Prepare a letter on your agency's letterhead documenting all of the details of the budget revision request. *Thoroughly complete the budget revision request form; *Detail how this revision will support or enhance the program; *Detail exactly what you want to revise and why; *Attach a copy of your current budget, marked with the requested revisions that covers all cost, both old and new; *Send these materials to your grant monitor and wait for written approval prior to expending funds under the new budget. 3/25/2014 | Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority | 25

  26. BUDGET REVISIONS Approval of your request: Your request is not approved until your grant monitor replies to your request in writing.
