  1. Pattern and Repetition / Op ArtUsing contrasting colors or black and white, create an OP Art design using pattern and repetitionStart with a straight or wavy line, a name, hand, or any shape desired as a starting point. Using contrasting colors (alternately) to draw more and more lines that echo the previous ones. create unique patterns that will confuse the eyes and possibly create moving, warping, or even vibrating images.*materials: markers work best (pencil is not advised, as it lacks the strong contrast needed). Draw free-hand, or for a more effective outcome, use rulers, a compass, or geometric templates & tracers. The more mathematical and the better the craftsmanship…the more authentic and impressive the results.

  2. BalanceUse toothpicks and glue to demonstrate your understanding of the three types of Balance (symmetrical, asymmetrical, and radial)Label each type.

  3. Line & LetteringFind a wrapper with some writing on it. Crumple it slightly. Draw what you see – pay special attention to the writing/font and how it is affected by the crinkling.

  4. SHAPETake photos or use magazines to find letters to spell out your first and last name hidden in everyday images of things. *Use at least 10 letters.* Explain how the letters are created. ex: F r i d a K a h l o = Frida Kahlo
