  3. Before we get started… In order to fully participate in our session, we suggest that you download a QR code reader app for your device. We recommend Qrafter, which can be downloaded, for free, from the iTunes store.

  4. QR Code Warm-Up To help us better know the level of comfort you have with QR codes, please complete the twt poll below to give us real-time feedback *This is also a quick way for you to pre-assess your students at the beginning of a lesson or unit.

  6. QR Code Workshop Reflecting on your twtpoll survey response, decide how you would like to use this session to your advantage. There are 4 stations/centers with a range of activities about QR codes.

  7. Station #1: What is a QR Code? How do I make one? At this station you will find detailed tutorials on how to get started. The video has great suggestions for importing text, embed video and files. We suggest this station for anyone in the 0-2 range of the twt survey.

  8. Station #2: Disney Character Scavenger Hunt This is a great activity for extending your students’ thinking about any content area. Scavenger Hunts can be made by either the teacher or students. Scan the QR Code and guess the Disney character from the description.

  9. Station #3: Famous Landmarks This is great activity for visual learners, but can also include clues, videos or document files (such as maps). Scan the QR codes, identify the famous landmark, determine the city and the state.

  10. Station #4: Podcast This QR code links to a podcast, which was a culminating project for our United States Geography curriculum. Students created a commercial for the state, which was turned into a podcast, and made part of their museum exhibit for their state. Students can listen to each others and learn something new!
