  1. Robotshuman like machines that complete simple, everyday tasks in an efficient and useful manner PAUL EGGERTON

  2. TASKS BY ROBOTS • Some robots are small enough to be used to spy, clean, or find hidden items • Assemble common products • Handle dangerous materials • Cutting and polishing • Inspecting parts, produce, and livestock

  3. Specific Applications 1 • SWORDS- military robot • Serving in Iraq • It is a war robot that mans guns and shoots them with precision

  4. Specific Applications 2 • Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) • Used in military • Pilotless drone that can fly over targets undetected and can fire on them

  5. Specific Applications 3 • Swarm Robots • Used in labs for research • Inspired by small insects, can fit into tiny areas and are useful for tasks such as cleaning, spying, or finding hidden items

  6. Detail • Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) • UAV’s vary in size and shape but they’re usually relatively small and are used for stealth missions • 8000 UAVS were produced for about 4 billion dollars total between 1994-2003 • Operations of UAV’s: They are often programmed to fly above war zones to complete tasks such as spotting enemy targets or even firing on them • 6 Categories of UAV’s Target and Decoy Reconnaissance Combat Logistics Research and Development Civil and Commercial UAV’s They are also classified in terms of the altitude they fly at and the range that exists in the aircraft
