  2. Aphorisms are brief, clever statements that make wise observations about life • Read Poor Richard’s Almanack on p. 275 and analyze each aphorism. • What does each mean? • Do we currently believe these things? • What is the claim (thesis) of many of these aphorisms? APHORISMS

  3. When is rebellion justified? • Think: What’s “not fair.” • How do you explain your rebellion logically? • People are more apt to hear you out when you present logical arguments and inspire a wider audience to believe as you do The Declaration
