  3. Fiscal Year 1 Much of the plan for fiscal year was setting the stage for the project. This included: • Developing the program charter, • Putting contracts with UBC and STI in place, • Purchasing computing resources, • Running the BlueSky system for Western Canada, • Outreach

  5. Fiscal Year 2 Plans for year 2 include: • Running the BlueSky system for Eastern and Western Canada, • National Smoke Forum, Halifax 2014 • Implementation of the CFFEPS component • Investigate new research topics to improve the forecasting • Investigate health effects • Continued Outreach

  12. Canadian Forest Fire Emissions Prediction System The Canadian Forest Fire Emissions Prediction System (CFFEPS) will be a new module compatible with the Canadian Forest Fire Danger Rating System used to predict smoke plume dynamics and emissions.

  13. BlueSky Canada In 2013, funding from the Canadian Safety and Security Program (CSSP) provided an opportunity to develop a national system. The intended output will be the creation of national smoke forecast products and tools useful for providing information to the public. 27
