  2. Transitioning of Tech Prep Students to Postsecondary Education A system should be in place to: • Identify/report students at the high school level through their transition to further education or work. • Help students with the transition from high school to the postsecondary level.

  3. Trends Influencing Transition • Economic growth • Changes in teaching and learning • Increasing diversity of citizens • Higher academic standards • Increased demands for accountability

  4. HS to College Transition • 95% HS seniors expect to go to college • 70% HS seniors expect a Bachelor’s • 66% HS seniors enroll within 1 year • Most parents want college for their kids • More businesses demand higher skilled workers/college-level competencies
