  2. Biography Rafael Nadal was born on June 3,1986 on the island of Manacor, Spain. He started playing tennis at the age of 3. When he was 9, his coach, uncle Toni Nadal, switched him to left handed, giving him an edge on the court. Nadal started playing professionally at the age of 15. Nadalesmuytalentoso.
