  1. Plywood Doors Plywood is a composition of more than three layers of thin wood attached together, by a fixative. Each layer of plywood is arranged and placed in a way that it is adjoining with the right angles to increase its durability and to reduce the shrinkage of the completed piece of ply. Plywood is mostly flattened into large sheets that are used for the construction of the buildings. However, other plywood doors pieces are made/altered into simple or compound curves specifically used for furniture, boats, and aircraft. Manufacturing plywood is a multi-layered process. A separate layer of the wood out of the three layers that are combined to make a ply is called veneers. Veneers are derived from timber logs. They are extracted using a rotary cutting process. Rotary cut refers to a process in which wood logs are boarded on a machine and are rotated along their longitudinal axis

  2. and while it's moving, a sharp hammer or a cutter peels of the layers from the log. The separate wood veneers are obtained, then placed on each other to form layers. Therefore, each individual layer is called a ply. Adhesives like urea formaldehyde and phenol formaldehyde are then applied over each ply, after which these layers are together placed into a hot press machine to be coated together under high pressure. The machine presses and bonds all the plies carefully and systematically with each other. The completed product is then polished, marked and after the finishing touches are done, it is supplied to distributors, suppliers, and dealers who sell it to the customers accordingly. The type of fixative used to affix the layers of wood depends on the kind of requirement for the plywood doors. For a ply sheet made out of softwood, for exterior purpose, the phenol- formaldehyde resin is used as a fixative. This is because of excellent robustness and its ability to withstand moisture. Whereas, on softwood plywood sheets, that are designed for interior installation, either soybean protein adhesive or blood protein is generally used. However, hardwood plywood which is used for furniture and interior installation is made with urea-formaldehyde resin. Some installations require plywood sheets that have a thin layer of metal, plastic, resin-infused paper or fabric bound to either side or both, to give the outer surface extra durability from abrasion and to improve its resistance to hold the paint. This type of plywood is known as overlaid plywood and generally used for transportation, construction and agricultural field. Plywood door can be of different types. It can either be made from hardwood, softwood or can be a combination of the two. Some common hardwoods used to make plywood are maple, oak, ash, mahogany, and teak. Whereas, some of the softwood used are pine, spruce, redwood, and cedar. The various types of plywood that is generally used are: ●Commercial Plywood ●Shuttering Plywood ●Laminated Plywood ●Decorative Plywood ●Waterproof Plywood www. relaibledoors.in
