  2. Aero Glass Feature • Windows desktop new appearance • Provides a crisper, more refined appearance • Enables customization of your desktop by using different themes • Enables different parts of the desktop to display as transparent or semi-transparent

Desktop Themes A theme is a combination of pictures, colors, and sounds on your computer • When you choose a theme, it will affect the following: • Visual appearance of the desktop • Sounds • Screen Saver • Some themes may include the display of Desktop icons and mouse pointers. • If you choose a theme that does not support the Aero Glass feature you may have the following problems. • Limited color choices • No transparency in your windows • Aero Peek feature

  4. Changing the Theme 1. Click on the start menu icon 3. Click on, Personalization 2. Type in, pers

  6. Notice the new Desktop Background You can also go online for other desktop backgrounds, but you should pick a background that is an Aero Theme in order for all features to be available

  7. Modifying the selected background theme to create a customized background theme 1. Click on, Desktop Background

  8. You can create a slide show by clicking on a background to select it. Notice the backgrounds that are already checked. They correspond to the theme you have chosen. How often do you want the picture to change. Specifies random order of display. Position of picture on screen. When finished, save changes

  9. Modifying the selected background theme to create a customized background theme 1. Click on, Window Color

  10. Changing Taskbar color 1. Click on, Fuchia 2. Click on, Save changes Notice the color of the task bar and the edges of the window

  11. You can also add a screen saver and change your desktop sounds

  12. Customizing Desktop Items 1. Click on, Change Desktop icons link You can select the icons to show on the desktop You can change the speed and the display of the mouse pointer You can change the display of the icons on your desktop

  13. After you have made changes to your theme, you now have a customized theme and you need to save it. 1. Right click and select, Save Theme 2. Name the new theme, Custom Theme and Save it

  14. Deleting Your Customized Theme 3. Close the window 2. Right click the theme, and click on the Delete theme selection Click another Theme ( Your Custom Theme cannot be the active theme when you delete it)
