  2. For this session house prices means how much money do house cost. Mortgage means how much money can you borrow to get your own house! DON’T FORGET TO LOOK BACK TO LAST WEEKS LAST WEEKS WWW/EBI FOR TARGET! This term we are going to check our progress slightly differently!   5. Buying a House Today it has become very difficult to get a mortgage to buy a house. Lenders often want a minimum of 10% deposit, which is rare for young people to have at their disposal. How much does that mean you would need for a £120,000 house?! Recent government initiatives have reduced this to just 5%. Now work out 5% of 120,000 The scheme is only applicable to new builds – which there have not been many of and mostly are apartment buildings, not houses.
