Toner Cartridge Yellow Toner Cartridge Magenta Toner Cartridge Cyan Toner Cartridge Black Toner Cartridge Be careful not to damage dev. roller while plug- in & out of toner cartridge Front Cover High voltage contact point (Supply Roller) High voltage contact point (Developing Roller) CRUM

  5. Ⅱ. Composition & Function 1. Toner Cartridge Development Method : Non-magnetic one component type Toner type : non magnetic one component pulverized toner Capacity : 1,000(Y,M,C) / 1,500(K) Sheets (N/N, Simplex, ISO/IEC 19798 standard pages) Sus. Blade Developing Roller High voltage contact point (Supply Roller) Spacer DR(Gap-Ring) High voltage contact point (Developing Roller)

  6. Ⅱ. Composition & Function Gear Agitator Gear IDLE Gear Paddle Gear SR 1. Toner Cartridge Gear train : Torque transferred from SET drive gear to DR gear. Gear DR

  7. Ⅱ. Composition & Function Toner Slider Toner Agitator Shaft Paddle wire Developing roller Supply roller 1. Toner Cartridge Toner Supply Type : toner slider and supply roller Toner layer control : toner layer thickness on dev. roller controlled by SUS. blade’s trail-edge Dev. gap control : gap ring located at both sides of dev. roller

  8. Ⅱ. Composition & Function 2. OPC Unit Layout OPC(Organic Photo-Conductor) Life : Print over 35,000 Images OPC Cleaning: Cleaning Blade (urethane)

  9. Ⅱ. Composition & Function OPC Drum Shaft OPC Handle OPC Cleaning blade Charger Roller Cleaning Roller Shaft Paddle OPC Erager Lamp Slider Waste OPC 2. OPC Unit Layout OPC(Organic Photo-Conductor)

  10. Ⅱ. Composition & Function Error List • Invalid toner • Invalid Yellow (M/C/K) toner kit • Mismatch of model name, supplier ID, company name and etc. • Not install • Toner cartridge (Y/M/C/K) is not installed • Service call error • Fuser Low (Over) heat error • LSU error • Transfer belt error • Dev. Home error • Motor Lock error

  11. Ⅳ. Printing Problems &Solution 1. Vertical Black Line and Band Description: 1. Straight thin black vertical lines occur on the printout 2. Dark black vertical bands occurs on the printout Check and Cause Solution • Damaged development roller, deformed doctor-blade : In case of one color • Scratched / contaminated surface of the charging roller in OPC set : all colors layered • Damaged / contaminated ITB (Image Transfer Belt) : waste toner color • Damaged / deformed cleaning blade (OPC/ITB) : waste toner color • Replace toner cartridge and retest. • Replace OPC cartridge and retest. • Replace ITB cartridge and retest. • Replace OPC or ITB and retest.

  12. Ⅳ. Printing Problems &Solution 2. Vertical White Line Description: White vertical lines in the image. Check and Cause Solution • Contamination of the window or internal lenses of LSU : in case of all colors • Foreign matter in toner cartridge : one color • If the fuser is damaged, white spots occur periodically : all colors • ITB cleaning blade could touch with ITB wiping off a part of image : all colors • Clean the LSU window with recommended cleaner (IPA). • If foreign matter is inside LSU, replace LSU unit. • Replace toner cartridge. • Replace ITB unit. • Check the fuser ribs corresponding to white spot. Remove foreign matter or replace parts.

  13. Ⅳ. Printing Problems &Solution 3. Horizontal Dark Band or White Band Description: Dark or blurry horizontal stripes occur on the printout periodically Check and Cause Solution • Bad contacts between the imaging unit and high voltage terminals. • The rollers in the toner cartridge may be contaminated. • Charge roller – 37.7 mm • Supply roller – 32.8 mm • Develop roller – 26 mm • Transfer roller(T1) – 43.8 mm • Transfer roller(T2) – 55.2 mm • OPC Drum – 188.5 mm • Fusier – 88.4 mm • Clean all high voltage terminals in the cartridge and the frame of the printer. • See the periodic table in the left to identify what sort of unit or component causes the problem. • Replace the relevant unit.

  14. Ⅳ. Printing Problems &Solution 4. Black / White Spot Description: 1. Dark or blurry spots occur periodically in the printing 2. White spots occur periodically in the printing Check and Cause Solution • Foreign matter sticking or contamination on toner cartridge, OPC drum, ITB unit, or fuser. • 1) Charge roller – 37.7 mm • 2) Supply roller – 32.8 mm • 3) Develop roller – 26 mm • 4) Transfer roller(T1) – 43.8 mm • 5) Transfer roller(T2) – 55.2 mm • 6) OPC Drum – 188.5 mm • 7) Fusier – 88.4 mm • See the periodic table in the left to identify what sort of unit or component causes the problem. • Replace the relevant unit.

  15. Ⅳ. Printing Problems &Solution 5. Dark Image or Black Description: The printed image is dark Check and Cause Solution • No charging voltage in the engine board. • Regardless of printable image, composite black image is printed. There could be a problem in charging process • In the case, it could cause wrap jam in the fuser Check electric contacts to the HVPS

  16. Ⅳ. Printing Problems &Solution 6. Uneven Density Description: Print Density is uneven between left and right Check and Cause Solution • Check if transfer roller and connected parts are properly installed • Replace ITB unit • Replace toner cartridge • The pressure on the transfer roller by right and left spring is not even: springs are damaged, transfer roller is improperly installed, or transfer roller’s bushing or holders are damaged. • Toner cartridge has been expired. • Toner level is too low in the development cartridge.

  17. Ⅳ. Printing Problems &Solution 7. Ghost Description: Ghosting occurs in the interval of 26 mm or 188.5mm Check and Cause Solution • Bad contacts by contamination or foreign matter in HVPS board • Toner cartridge is expired. • Bad OPC • Check electric contacts to HVPS. Replace HVPS board • Replace toner cartridge • Replace OPC unit

  18. Ⅳ. Printing Problems &Solution 8. Stains on the printout Description: The printout are stained Check and Cause Solution • Toner leakage due to improper sealing in development unit. • Poor cleaning of OPC Unit or ITB Unit • Replace toner cartridge • Replace OPC Unit or ITB Unit

  19. Ⅳ. Printing Problems &Solution 9. Stains on Back of Page Description: The back of the page is stained periodically Check and Cause Solution • 55.2 mm: 2nd Transfer roller could be contaminated when engaged or disengaged. • 88.4 mm: Fuser roll could be contaminated due to cold offset • Check the period and replace the part with problem. • If there is a problem with disengagement, please check the operation of the clutch of driving T2 Roller, and replace it if it is necessary.

  20. Ⅳ. Printing Problems &Solution 10. Blank page Print out Description: Blank page is printed Check and Cause Solution • Bad electric contacts in toner cartridge or OPC unit • LSU Unit error • No development high voltage applied from HVPS • Check OPC-ground contact. • Check LSU Unit • Check HVPS Board
