  3. HOW? Entering The Classroom • Please enter quietly – It’s NOT Social Time • Go directly to your assigned seat • Take out your notebook & pencil • Read the Agenda & Start the Warm-up work that will be written on the board • Always write the daily objectives in your notebook.

  4. HOW? Be Ready • EVERYDAY: bring a pencil and your notebook • EVERY Friday: bring coloredpencilsandcoloredmarkersfor mini-posters &/or projects • When I need your attention I will raise my hand. Stop what you are doing and make eye contact with me to show that you are ready to listen. • Physical breaks are ok: you may get out of your seats & stand at the back of the class as long as you are not disruptive.

  5. HOW? Absences &Tardies • Sign the tardy log book & attach a tardy pass to the clipboard. Do not disrupt the class by coming up to me. • Get the daily assignment from a classmate after class and do it at home. • If you missed a test because of an excused absence, arrange a time to make up the test after school.

  6. Class Discussions • I believe that the most effective learning takes place when students are actively involved in discussions. • I ask lots of questions during instruction. • I want you to think and participate. • There are NEVER any wrong answers to my open-ended questions.

  7. HOW? Homework • Class time will be given for all assignments & lab reports. • You may work in groups. • If you finish, you have no homework. • Turn assignments in on time for full credit, but turn them in even if they’re late!

  8. HOW? Leaving the Classroom • Volunteers Needed: • 5 Minute Warning – Begin the Exit Ticket work in your notebook • 2 Minute Warning – Listen to my wrap up • At the bell: Wait to be dismissed • Make sure the desktop & floor around you are clean • Push in your chair & line up to show me your exit ticket • Turn in completed class work to the Period Basket • Any work that you did not finish is your homework • Put away all supplies
