  2. I’ve been very ill these past few years. After many strokes my mind & my body are tired. Think I need a nap! 1:30 pm Jan. 20, 1965 POST It’s absurd that the British people don’t believe that Hitler & his Nazi troops are a great threat to our country! Maybe my speech today will convince them. 2:00 pm Mar. 9, 1936 Can’t believe I escaped from Pretoria and reached safety! They held me in that POW camp for two weeks! I’m being seen as a hero in Britain. 10:30 pm Oct. 20, 1899 School has always been a disaster for me! Maybe I’ll actually like military school at Harrow School. 12:30 pm April. 17, 1888

  3. Today we defeated the Nazis on another front. We took Berlin! May 1945 I can’t believe I declared war on Germany (on behalf of Britain. Hitler has pushed us too far! Sept. 1939 I said, “The only thing we have to fear, is fear itself!” in my inaugural address today. I hope people trust me. Mar 1933 I was just named Lord Chancellor! I’m excited, but nervous my decisions might anger people. 1919 I can’t believe I’m marrying a man that’s 10 years older than me! I hope we can build a big family. Sept. 1908

  4. Clementine, I know you are worried about England’s future, but you need to trust me. The world has turned upside down with so much aggression. We have Italy and Mr. Mussolini along with the German leader looking for weaker countries to dominate. Is it domination or revenge for the Treaty of Versailles? Since Germany has taken back land lost in WWI, I see your point. I hope you stand tall, appeasement has not helped with these aggressive men.

  5. President Roosevelt we have been taking the bombing of England by Germany for over a year, we need your help. Prime Minister, you must understand the U.S. has been struggling with our Great Depression and have little resources to give. Mr. President, I am in need of supplies and weapons, could we work out a lend lease program? Mr. Prime Minister, You have funds to pay for war weapons and food for your weary citizens. Mr. Roosevelt I need food and weapons to survive. I believe our factories in the United States would agree to a lend lease program, I will get back to you ASAP.
