Decoration and cloths The Metis used beads to decorate clothing. They had a special design called the floral design. They were so famous for it they were called the flower beadwork people. Many people learned and are learning the floral design. All cloths the Metis wear are traditional and have been worn for many years.
Another way to design Many people have learned and are still learning how to do the floral beadwork design. But there is another way the Metis design and that is with quills.
Using an animal The Metis used everything of the animal they killed. They would skin the animal and use the skin for clothing. They decorate this clothing with beads and quills. They would use the bones by carving them into cooking tools and weapons. They would also use the meat as their food. The kid’s parents or grandparents would always teach their kid how to hunt for when they are older. The Metis only took what they need and nothing else.
