  7. Grant Writing Preparation • Read guidelines carefully more than once, then ask funder for any clarification • Pay attention to information in Guidelines • Follow all Guidelines and ask question if unclear

What to do when Grant Application is Successful?! • Hire and Train Staff and Volunteers • Be ready to Implement Services in 30-60 days • Learn about the Payment Process • Begin Data Collection for Evaluation • Stay to constant Contact with funder • Attend any available Grantee Training • Prepare a Program Continuation Plan

  12. What to do if your Grant Application is NOT funded? • Write a Thank You letter to the Funder • Ask for feedback on Application • Address concerns related to feedback • Continue to look for similar and other related funding opportunities • Reapply with an improved application
