  1. Coasts & Map Skills L.O. – To assess competency at map skills. To identify coastal features from a map.

  2. Relief means the shape of the land. There are three ways to show relief on a map. Can you think of any?

  9. Compare the relief of the two map extracts – key points. • Low land, high land – how is this shown. • Contour lines. • Hill tops, plateaus, cliffs? • Spot heights? • Triangulation pillars?

  10. Task: • Work through the map skills questions on worksheet 7.4 Recognition of coastal landforms from contour maps and then 14E describing Coastlines. • Answer in detailed sentences where appropriate using a range of geographical terms.
