  2. 800 pound Gorilla Over 15% of all US online retail sales now come from Amazon.com As an established retailer, Amazon.com has the competitive edge in today’s economy Amazon.com is the “Walmart” of the Internet “Amazon dominates the web-only channel, accounting for 61% of web-only sales and 34% of total online sales in the Internet Retailer Top 500.” (Internet Retailer) “Amazon also reported that active customer accounts exceeded 88 million in the fourth quarter, up 16% year over year. More than 1.5 million other merchants were selling through Amazon in the fourth quarter, up 18% from the prior year.” (Internet Retailer) Why Amazon.com?
